We've had the good fortune to enjoy some of life's finer things. Magnificent hotels, extraordinary invitations, splendid company and the occasional experience so remarkable that even we were rendered speechless. A rare and rather alarming occurrence.
We've also discovered that a great deal of money can buy an astonishing amount of fuss, without necessarily buying anyone a particularly good time.
You see, we've been the hosts and the hosted. We've occupied the best seats in the house, ventured behind some rather interesting doors and learnt a thing or two about the delicate art of making people feel special.
And we have developed a rather keen eye for the little things. The room with the view, the car waiting just when you need it, the unexpected gift and those delightful touches that make you wonder whether someone has been secretly reading your mind.
We've been thoroughly spoilt and we're rather difficult to impress.
Extravagance alone doesn't impress us. Thoughtfulness, on the other hand, always will. And we rather like the idea of spoiling your guests, too.
